IAB Health Benefits
The International Association of Benefits (IAB), founded in the 1980s, is one of the largest associations of its kind. IAB provides health insurance products to individuals and small businesses all across the country. While not actually an insurance company, this membership association offers sets of benefits to its members, allowing them to afford the medical and dental care these families need. IAB is able to negotiate deep discounts and special group benefits to all its members because of the size of its membership, enabling scores of individuals and families who otherwise could not afford insurance to be covered.
IAB has six basic memberships:
- Signature includes benefits for dental care, vision, prescriptions, and chiropractic, as well as medical care.
- Classic offers over 25 different benefits, including dental and hearing aid coverage
- Premier has 25 benefits, including mail-order prescription and dental
- Elite has over 30 different benefits
- Platinum has over 35 benefits
- Platinum Plus has over 35 benefits.
Memberships are refundable. Each membership package includes a variety of benefits for a monthly fee. Some form of IAB is available in most states.
IAB Health Insurance Products
The IAB's Platinum Plus membership costs $199.95 a month for an individual or $249.95 a month for a family. A sampling of the benefits for this level of membership in the association is as follows:
- Physician discount of $50 per visit
- Hospital and medical facility discounts of $1000 a day, up to 30 days a year
- Benefit for ICU/CCU care
- Dental care, with benefits of $1000 per person per year.
- Chiropractic benefits
- Mail order hearing aids
- Vision care
- Mail order contacts
IAB also offers a TeleMed benefit which allows you to call one of their primary care physicians by phone if you cannot reach your regular doctor.
